There has never been a better time to upgrade or replace your air conditioning and/or heating system. Take advantage of these great rebates and get the home heating and cooling systems you need at affordable prices.
1. Determine the type of rebate based on your installation.
2. Take measurements of:

- Each room in the home
- The exterior of the home
3. Create a Manual J using a software, online program, or paying a contractor or freelancer. Your Manual J must include:

- Window & door types & sizes
- Elevation & geographic location
- Insulation type & rating
- Age of home
4. Determine the right sized heat pump required to heat and cool your home within NYS guidelines.
5. Determine if your desired heat pump model qualifies.
6. Find the right Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and Northeast Energy Efficiency Partners (NEEP) documents required for your desired heat pump model.
7. Enter Manual J and NEEP information into the NYS rebate calculator to determine your rebate amount.
8. Fill out Utility Acknowledgement Form with necessary info (form must be signed by homeowner and certified installer).
9. Fill out the NYS Decommissioning checklist, if applicable (form must be signed by homeowner and certified installer). Determine which section to fill out per the guidelines on page one.
10. Take photos of your system before, during (if applicable), and after the process. A list of required photos is below, depending on which installation type you’ve chosen.

11. Create an account on the NYS Clean Heat Program site and follow the steps below to submit your rebate (must be submitted within 60 days of installation).

12. Wait two to eight weeks for the approval process to complete. You may have to revise your submission if requested from NYS, causing even more delays.
